My parents Steve and Derry Dalton ran the pub for 2 years between 1987-89 before my father passed away. I enjoyed 2 of the happiest years of my childhood living above the pub. I remember it being the hub of the community and had many wonderful people from all ages socialising there. It is a time I will never forget. It saddens me to hear what has happened to the place now, but how it was and all the wonderful memories I hold dear to my heart will stay with me forever. It all seems very calm and subdued in there at the moment-I think another chance is a good thing because it is a shame to lose local neighbourhood pubs-not everyone wants to go into town for a night out.
